Prof. Dr. Masatake Shiraishi is a distinguished academician and former Executive and Vice President at the College of Engineering, Ibaraki University, Japan. He earned his Doctor of Engineering degree from the Graduate School of Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1978. A long-standing member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), he has also served on its Board Committee since 2008 and was an Outstanding Paper Reviewer for ASME from 2002 to 2004. Prof. Shiraishi has had significant international academic involvement, having been a Visiting Professor at Oklahoma State University, National University of Singapore, and Erlangen University, Germany. He also served as a Senior Visiting Researcher at McMaster University, Canada, and as an Invited Professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, China. His academic career reflects a commitment to engineering research and collaboration across global institutions.

Prof. Leonard-Ionut Atanase, born March 09, 1982, studied, from 2000 to 2005, macromolecular chemistry at "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University, Iasi, Romania. From 2005 to 2006, he pursues a Research Master at Ecole Nationale de Chimie (ENSCMu), Mulhouse, France. In 2010, he received his PhD from the University of Haute Alsace, Mulhouse. Until 2014, he continued his research as university researcher. He worked also at University of Pau, France in collaboration with LVMH. In 2016, he returned in Iasi, Romania and from 2017, he is full professor at "Apollonia" University, Iasi. From 2018 until 2023, he was the Dean of Faculty of Dental Medicine and Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office. He published more than 80 ISI papers, has an H-index of 27, more than 2100 citations, he was involved in more than 10 national and international research projects and participated at more than 300 national and international conferences. His expertise is based on preparation and characterization of different types of graft and block copolymers, scaffolds for tissue engineering and bone regeneration, drug delivery systems, such as: micelles, nanocapsules, hydrogels, electrospun fibers and emulsions.

Dr. Petru V. Notingher este Profesor Emerit la National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest. Fost Director of Electrical Materials Laboratory and of the Electromechanical Energy Conversion Equipment Research Center from Politehnica Bucharest,his research interests includ,in general, interactiunea polimerilor si compozitelor polimere cu mediul ambient (radiatii, oxygen, apa) si cu campuri electromagnetice, termice si mecanice intense. A publicat peste 450 lucrari privind ageing mechanisms of polymers and insulation systems for electrical equipments, nanocomposite polimere, polymers breakdown, electrical and water treeing etc.

Prof.dr.ir. Gustaaf Schoukens was professor of polymer technology at the Ghent University (Belgium), faculty of Engineering, retired since October 1, 2014. He received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the K.U. Leuven (Belgium) in 1971 where he also obtained his Ph.D. in 1978. The subject of his Ph.D. research was “Non-linear viscoelastic behavior of dispersions”. This subject has a renewed interest due to the presence of nanoparticles in the air (pollution) and even in blood and longs and their possibility to form gel-like structures. He worked as senior researcher from 1978 till 2004 in the private industry (Solvay; Central Research Laboratory) in the field of polymerization and polymer processing. In 1994 he obtained the part-time position of lecturer at the Ghent University, teaching “polymer processing”. In 2004 he obtained the fulltime position of professor at the Ghent University teaching all courses concerning polymer technology, including processing and polymerization processes. He is also involved in the courses concerning “environment and sustainable development” in general and teaching the course of “rational use of materials” in particular. Polymer technology in general and polymer processing, including synthetic and biopolymers, in particular are the main leads in his research program and of its publications. The main research topics are now the development of artificial turf for sport applications and the development of biopolymers based on chitin or chitosan with biomedical properties. A more recent research is the study of nanostructures, especially nanoparticles obtained by reaction engineering. These nanoparticles are already used in large quantities for the coating of paper and paperboards. I am an expert in the production of monofilaments for artificial sport applications and founded ERCAT (European Research Centre for Artificial Turf). I am also author of many articles about the production and properties of monofilaments and also about the characteristics of artificial turf fields and their interaction with the players on such fields.

Dr. Khashayar Ghandi received his PhD in Radiation Chemistry from Simon Fraser University in 2002. He worked as a research associate both under supervision of Professor Fleming at TRIUMF and he worked as a visiting scientist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the Oxford shire, UK. In 2005, he went on the work as an Associate Assistant professor at Mount Allison University and received early tenure. He joined the University of Guelph as a tenured Associate Professor in 2018. Ghandi’s research examines fundamental aspects and applications of chemistry and physics in health, energy, nanotechnology, and green chemistry. His research is carried out both at a conventional chemistry laboratory and within the TRIUMF national laboratory in Vancouver, ISIS at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK, ELYSE in the university of Paris/Saclay, and JPARC in Japan. His work includes computational work such as investigating electronic structures, quantum field theory, Monte Carlo simulations and Molecular dynamics, as well as hands on lab experiments, instrument design (including design of medical devices), spectroscopic studies, synthesis of novel material as well as data analysis. Key research themes include: Applications of physical chemistry tools to other disciplines. Ghandi and his group collaborate with colleagues to explore applications of chemistry and physics in biology, medicine, commerce, and engineering. Fundamental aspects of physical chemistry/chemical physics. Ghandi and his research group examine topics such as novel types of chemical bonds, kinetic isotope effects on reactions of state selected molecules, developing new spectroscopic techniques to study intermediates, chemistry under extreme conditions, and the role of external fields on electronic structure in atoms, molecules and material as well as modeling chemical reactions.

Dr. Samira Malekmohammadi holds a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in synthesizing and characterizing advanced polymers, nanocomposites, and 2D materials. Her research employs cutting-edge methodologies at the intersection of materials chemistry, biomedical applications, and sustainability, addressing key challenges in these areas. Based at the Henry Royce Institute and the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC) in Manchester, she leads pioneering research projects that deliver innovative technical solutions. Her work focuses on creating novel materials with enhanced properties, such as biocompatibility, mechanical strength, and environmental resilience, with applications in tissue engineering, drug delivery, and eco-friendly materials development. Samira collaborates with global experts, advancing cross-disciplinary research in chemistry and materials science. Her leadership has propelled major research initiatives across academia and industry. As a reviewer and guest editor for respected academic journals, she has further solidified her influence in the scientific community, shaping the discourse in materials science, particularly in sustainable materials and nanotechnology. Her contributions continue to push the boundaries of materials innovation, advancing next-generation solutions that address both biomedical and environmental challenges.

Jinlian Hu is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong and serves as the President of the Hong Kong Federation of Invention and Innovation as well as Executive Vice Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Invention and Innovation Association. Professor Hu is a top 2% of scientists by Stanford Ranking (actual ranking 0.07%), an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (USA) and fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, International Association of Advanced Materials, Textile Institute in UK and the Hong Kong Institute of Textiles and Apparel respectively. Professor Hu is also an awardee of National Talents by China Central government, a recipient of Sang Ma Technology award (China) and distinguished achievement award of USA Fiber Society. Specialized in textiles engineering and materials by education, Professor Hu received PhD from the University of Manchester, is a pioneer in shape memory polymer materials for textiles and medical devices. Her research areas cover 1)smart polymers/ fibers /textile materials, 2)spider silk and bionics, and 3)biomaterials and wearable devices. She published 14 books and 33 book chapters and has been a keynote/Plenary speaker at more than 140 conferences and published more than 400 journal papers. Professor Hu is also distinctive in her impact on industries: Apart from 5 start-ups from her Ips, she has cooperation with ~60 local, regional, national, and international companies, holds more than 100 patents and has translated more than 20 items to industries. Besides, for her sustained influence in the theory and application of shape memory polymeric and fiber materials, the University of Manchester awarded her a Doctor of Science in 2023.

Antonio Zuorro graduated in Chemical Engineering (specialization in biochemistry, energy and environment) at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", at the same university he obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering for the Environment and Safety with an "excellent" evaluation, which was then followed by a post-doc in which he worked on the valorization of agro-industrial residues through the extraction of bio-active compounds of interest in the cosmetic, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical sectors. Member of the Teaching Staff of the PhD in Chemical Engineering, at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza – University of Rome, over the years he has held the courses of “Principles of Biochemical Engineering” for the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and of “Chemical Engineering for Biomedical Systems” for the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. He currently teaches the course “Fundamentals of Separation Operations” for the Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and “Engineering of Artificial Organs” for the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. He has been supervisor and co-supervisor of numerous theses for the undergraduate, graduate and PhD courses in Chemical Engineering (now Chemical Processes for Industry and the Environment).

Dr. Yan is a full professor at Sun Yat-sen University at Guangzhou and worked as Ten Thousand Plan Young Talent of China. His group mainly concentrates on design of environmentally benign nanostructured materials for catalytic transformation of renewable sources into clean energy and value-added products. He started his PhD study at Max-Planck-Institute for Coal Research in 2008 in Germany with the support of Max-Planck-Society Scholarship. He obtained his PhD from RWTH Aachen University in December 2011. After that, he received the Ontario Postdoctoral Fellowship and worked at Lakehead University (Canada) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2012. After that, he joined Brown University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in December 2013. In 2016, he obtained Hundred Talent Plan and Sun Yat-sen Excellent Scholar from Sun Yat-sen University and joined the university in 2017. So far, his group has filed over 15 Patents and published over 130 papers in Nature Phys. Rev. Angewandte Chem., Applied Catalysis B., ACS Catal., Green Chemistry, Small, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chem. Eng. J. et al. He is the associated Editor of three international journals and editorial member of ten international journals. Since coming to Sun Yat-sen University, Dr. Yan has been the recipient of Hundred Talent Award, Science and Technology Award for Ecological Environment, IAAM Medal Award, National Ten Thousand Talent Award from Central Organization Department of China.

Abdullah Aydın is an Professor of Science/Chemistry Education at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Turkey. He received his Master's in Analytical Chemistry from Uludağ University in 1995. He received his Ph.D. in science / chemistry education from Gazi University in 2004. He is a member of the editorial team of 74 international journals (disciplinary and interdisciplinary). Prof. Pekcan received his MS Degree in Physics at The University of Chicago in June 1971,then in May 1974, his PhD Thesis was accepted in Solid state Physics in University of Wyoming. He started his carrier at Hacettepe University, Ankara, TURKEY, as Assistant Professor in 1974. Habilitation Thesis was accepted in Solid State Physics in 1979. He became Associate Professor at Hacettepe University in 1979. He visited ICTP Trieste, ITALY, as Visiting Scientist in between June-August 1980. Between1980-1981 he was a Visiting Scientist in Technical University of Gdansk, in Poland. He worked as Visiting Professor, in University of Toronto, Department of Chemistry, CANADA between 1981- 1988. He was appointed as full Professor in Istanbul Technical University in Department of Physics, TURKEY and worked there between years of 1988-2005. He was Elected Member of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), in January 1995. He Became a Dean of School of Art and Sciences, in 1997 at Istanbul Technical University. He Received Science Award in 1998, from Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Prof. Pekcan was elected as Member of the Council of TÜBA in 2001 and the Scientific Board of TÜBİTAK in 2003 respectively. He was Head of Department of Physics and then became Dean of School of Art and Sciences in Işık University, in between 2005-2008. He worked as Dean in School of Art and Sciences, 2008—2012, in Kadir Has University. Now He is Professor at Kadir Has University, in Department of Bioinformatics and Genetics. Since 2012 he is a member of Science Academy.

Smain FEMMAM is Director of research at the University of Haute-Alsace France and responsible of the Research team on Signals & Safety Systems of Polytechnic Engineers School Sceaux France. He received the MS and Ph.D. degrees in Signal Processing and Computers from Versailles University, France in 1997 and 1999 respectively. Since 2013 he is promoted to a rank of senior director of research (HDR). After that, he joined the CMU Carnegie Mellon University & West Virginia University as Postdoc Fellow and Distinguished Visiting Professor. His main research area is signal processing, safety systems, communication and embedded systems. He has a strong interest in perception and characterization of signals, optimal filtering, spectral analysis, wavelets and perception haptics. Dr. Femmam is a senior member of IEEE, SEE and GDR ISIS. Member of IEEE C.A. committee France section. Board of Director of the Institute for Engineering and Technology Innovations in the World. He has guided numerous thesis projects, including some doctoral theses. He is active reviewer for several scientific academic journals and committee member of international conferences. He is the (Academic, Chief) Editor-in-Chief, Editor, Editorial Board, Guest Editor & Advisory Board members of more than 20 International Journals. He has authored and co-authored more than 90 papers, four Chapters, one edited Book, seven Books published by Wiley & Elsevier.
