Prof. Leonard-Ionut Atanase, born March 09, 1982, studied, from 2000 to 2005, macromolecular chemistry at "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University, Iasi, Romania.
From 2005 to 2006, he pursues a Research Master at Ecole Nationale de Chimie (ENSCMu), Mulhouse, France. In 2010, he received his PhD from the University of Haute Alsace, Mulhouse. Until 2014, he continued his research as university researcher. He worked also at University of Pau, France in collaboration with LVMH.
In 2016, he returned in Iasi, Romania and from 2017, he is full professor at "Apollonia" University, Iasi. From 2018 until 2023, he was the Dean of Faculty of Dental Medicine and Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office. He published more than 80 ISI papers, has an H-index of 27, more than 2100 citations, he was involved in more than 10 national and international research projects and participated at more than 300 national and international conferences.
His expertise is based on preparation and characterization of different types of graft and block copolymers, scaffolds for tissue engineering and bone regeneration, drug delivery systems, such as: micelles, nanocapsules, hydrogels, electrospun fibers and emulsions.
